About

Our relationship with computing technology is complex. Most would agree that technology shapes economy and culture, for better or worse, depending on your disposition. It’s equally true that economy and culture in turn shape technology, sometimes dramatically, though it’s often overlooked.

This blog explores the interplay between computing technology, economy, and culture, and its implications for society, oftentimes not considered. While each post may not address the theme head on, my desire is that it will emerge over time as a thread weaving through the twists and turns of individual topics.

The posts draw on my personal reflections from reading current and past articles and books on many topics, on the experiences of my daily life, and on my work at SAP. I should probably note that this site reflects my opinions, and not necessarily those of my employer, my friends, or my family.

I look forward to engaging with you in this conversation!
